Andreas Johannesen
Associate
With a background in Industrial Economics from NTNU, I’ve been part of Arkwright for 2.5 years. My days are a mix of structure and variety. Starting with coffee and clearing out my inbox — there’s something satisfying about starting the day with a clean slate. From there, the day fills up quickly with tasks and meetings. I might be preparing for an upcoming client session, drafting agendas, building presentations, or summarizing key insights. Other times, I’m deep in Excel, analyzing data.
One project I’m especially proud of involved assisting one of Norway’s largest and fastest-growing conglomerates in establishing a new business area — from idea and evaluation to execution. Since then, the subsidiary has experienced exceptional growth.
What makes Arkwright stand out is the culture. It feels like a continuation of student life — collaborative, social, and filled with people you genuinely enjoy working with. The projects are short and dynamic, and you’re constantly switching teams and industries. There’s no fixed partner or vertical, which means you get to know everyone, from associates to partners. Despite the hierarchy, the atmosphere is down-to-earth, and the partners are actively involved both professionally and socially. It’s a place where strong friendships form, and where you’re encouraged to grow.
It’s hands-on from the start, and you’re trusted with real responsibility early on.

After finishing my degree in Industrial Economics at NTNU, I joined Arkwright. I’ve been here ever since. Seven years in, I still appreciate the flexibility and variety in my workday. I usually arrive a bit before nine, coffee in hand, and start by reviewing the day’s plan. I check in with the associates on my team, answer questions, and align on next steps. Throughout the day, I might have project status meetings with the partner and team, client check-ins, or time set aside for research and problem-solving.
My main responsibility is to define how we solve the client’s problem. This applies both at a high level and in detail. That means identifying the key questions, planning the analyses we need to run, and figuring out who we need to talk to. I work closely with the team to shape the direction, delegate tasks, and ensure we’re moving forward.
The people and the culture make Arkwright truly special. We spend a lot of time at lunch, by the coffee machine, or during social events – and that creates a strong sense of community.
